Bostik, a French giant in the glue and adhesive industry
Valentin Thièrion has started working on a project for Bostik, a world leader for glue and adhesive products. It is a French company created in 1889, currently focusing on industrial, construction and consumer markets. It was taken over by the “ARKEMA” Group, a chemistry conglomerate. It was their largest acquisition ever. Bostik has operations in 44 countries around the world and called us for a project in Nederland.
A Valentin Thierion automated line under study in Nederland
In the Bostik plant, tasks are mainly carried out manually. Following the success of their revolutionary “fix and flash” glue launched in 2018, the production rate increased. Consequently, the plant wants to increase productivity and update its production facilities. A project to automate their full production line, starting with the integration of a palletizing/ depalletizing cell, was launched in cooperation with the Valentin Thièrion design office.
A new generation of palletizers – depalletizers
Bostik chose Valentin Thièrion on the strength of its 30-year experience in industrial handling and robotics. Valentin Thièrion is currently studying the design of a custom-made automatic line to meet that request. Thièrion’s proposal included a last generation palletizer/depalletizer with a top throughput of 15,000 Kilos/bottles Our Mechanical Engineering office sent out a quote for this ambitious project.
